A house has gone up in flames in Rotorua. Emergency services were alerted to a fire at a house on Homedale St about 12.55pm, northern fire communication shift manager Carren Larking said. Earlier, flames and black smoke was billowing from the house as fire crews battled the blaze. “The fire was well-involved by the time we arrived,” she said. Initially two fire crews were dispatched, but one has since left. Larking said there were no reports of injuries. The fire has since been extinguished leaving only the remains of a charred home. The cause of the fire is still unknown, but a fire investigator is at the scene.
